![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Q: what is the name of this piece? A: "Dream Dome" Q: what is this piece about? A: "Dream Dome" is an interactive installation piece in an enclosed, almost dark polygonal space. The audience can enter the space and listen to dreams. They will walk on streams of thoughts, which are projected onto the ground. The dreams can be found in certain areas, which are distinct, so that the visitors can see where they are. By stepping on them visitors will be able to listen to the dreams. Dreams are private, and they take place when we are in silence, asleep, introverted. The "Dream Dome" is a private space. I want the audience to experience the installation on their own, one person at a time and on headphones. Headphones are more intimate as the voice is closer and ambient noise becomes muffled. Thus a relationship between the listener and the narrator is being created. The listener becomes the dreamer. Q: how is your work "technology-based"? A: I have been using video and sound for most of my work. I am using computer technology for editing. My interactive pieces are run by computers. email: s.hinrichsen@usa.net |
